Fresh faces, fresh ideas

Well, Poplar Bluff, are you ready for it? Not only did your electric rates go up, but, yes, now the city is raising your water, sewer, premium cable channels and everything else connected with public utilities. Seems our city they can run deficits for the major fundings of other projects in our community and they raise electric rates without taking into consideration how it's going to affect the school system. That was a real boondoogle. But then, again, we keep voting the same people in all the time. Need to get some fresh faces in the race for city council, don't you think? Maybe if we had some people with a fresh idea we might actually get rid of the bricks instead of calling them a historic paved street. Using such acronyms means we'll be riding on those cobblestones forever and frankly until our city maintains them properly by pulling, resanding, properly placing and them staying on top of the maintenance I won't further back this city council in anything they do. I mean that street is bad enough and the area drive through is historic? Open your eyes, Poplar Bluff. Look around. You could almost bulldoze it from Bluff Lanes until you reached City Hall and it would really be a major improvement such as they did when they put up Big Orange downtown. So think about it, Poplar Bluff. Remember, it's your city.

Passing on an act of kindness

I want to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to the person who helped me with my tires at Walmart last week. Such an act of kindness I have never received from a total stranger before. I don't know whether it was the spirit of Christmas or spiritual guidance, but thank you so much and God bless you. I shall pass on an act of kindness as much and as often as possible. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Walmart Changer.

Pray for troops

Yes, I wanna put a Speak Out for the troops nationwide and I think we should have a prayer for 'em comin' back from Iraq. I have friends over there and cousin from back over there and ever'thing. I think we should have a big nationwide pray for them. Thank you.

Thank you, Channel 2

Merry Christmas and thank you, Speak Out, for lettin' me call in. I want to say Merry Christmas to everybody and also thank the Channel 2 cable for Channel 2 messages especially the one after the Vietnam Veterans statue message. Thank you very much.

Had enough

yet, folks?

What this country needs is more Tea Party members and less rhinos like Emerson and Boehner. Had enough yet, folks? Keep on spendin'. Thank you.
