Overpass

is a good ides

Yes, I'm reading today's Tuesday, Nov. 8 paper and I'm reading the Speak Out concerning Cravens Road overpass. I think the person raises a very valid and good point. Many times Cravens Road is blocked by Union Pacific. I think one of the quick solutions is if Union Pacific blocks Cravens Road for more than five minutes, I think there needs to be set rate of a fine for every minute that they go over five minutes. An any proceeds from that fine can be used to remodel and restore the old train depot.

It is truly a mess down here whenever Union Pacific -- I mean there's a whole section that is blocked off from emergency services. Whenever they decide to block that track down there, it truly is a mess. Thank you.

Put controls

on legal pot

This is a short heads up for all of our politicians. There is a push currently occurring in our fine state. Now why they want to legalize medicinal marijuana at this time we don't know, but these people who claim it is their right to access legal marijuana for medicinal use. I say this. Politicians, if it's their right to have the marijuana it is also the public's right not to have these stoned jarheads out on our highways. So as soon as they get their card for marijuana they surrender their driver's license because driving is a privilege --repeat -- a privilege. So, get the constitutional amendment to get your legal marijuana, but you lose your right to drive stoned here in Missouri. We're not going to become another California, I hope. And, I hope common sense will prevail. Maybe even totally blocking the legal marijuana. We don't need cartels from Mexico setting up office here in our fine state selling their illicit products. Now, do we?

More patrol

for city park

I'm calling about a city park. Bacon Park. I like to walk there sometimes and in the morning there is always high school kids hanging out before school and after school has started. And, I don't understand why the Poplar Bluff Police Department doesn't drive through there more often. The other day I was walking through there and there's like some high school kids looked like they were doing some dope. Ya'll need to start patrolling that place a little more heavily. Thank you.

No sympathy

for the NBA

Yeah, I'd like to comment about this basketball strike. Just like the football strike that was before, these people chose that particular sport to play themselves and to enjoy. I don't see where they have a gripe, since like I said, they chose the sport to play in. No one put 'em in there and made 'em do it. I don't see why they've got a gripe, but again that's the union for you. That I believe is a communist.

I'd also like to comment on where is all this abuse, this drug abuse, coming from. One in ten people die every 10 days in Butler County -- I believe that's a farce. Thank you.

City Cable...

dump U2

Hey, City Cable! How's about this for an idea. Dump U2 on Channel 42 for something more stimulating on cable. Please! How much more brain dead can you get? If you want to get that type of nonsense, let everybody in the community that owns a computer that does that type of nonsense anyway do it there instead of taking away our cable channels. For goodness sakes, give us back something more stimulating than idiots on TV doing what they can do on the computer all day long. Please give us back something more stimulating on Channel 42 than the nonsense they are already doing on computers. For goodness sakes! We don't need that taking over Channel 42 or do we need to go and petition City Council in a good manner and fashion to appoint the management at City Cable in a proper manner and have we the people listened to. Think about that one, City Cable.
