To the Editor:

The final numbers are in! The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Butler County was a great success, and we couldn't have done it without our generous teams, volunteers, and sponsors! It was awesome to see the cancer survivors' and caregivers' parade out onto the track for the inaugural lap. Over 200 walkers participated in the event and raised $29,000! Amazing!

The Relay For Life of Butler County committee wishes to express our sincere thanks to our sponsors and in kind donors including: Blackwell Baldwin, Brass & Oak, C & F Auto Salvage, Cape Electrical Supply, Colton's Steak House, Commerce Bank, Daily American Republic, Dille's Discount Pharmacy, Express Employment Professionals, First Missouri State Bank, Focus on Physical Therapy, Gamblin Lumber, Gamma Healthcare, Gates, Hood Co, Hyde's Fish House, Kennedy, Kennedy, Robbins and Yarbro Law Offices, Larry Hillis Dodge, Little, Schellhammer, Richardson, and Knowlan Law Offices, Mount Zion Baptist Church, Nordyne, Perkins, Poplar Bluff Medical Partners, Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, Rob Braden Trucking, Shooters Shack, Southern Bank, Starting USA, Sun Kissed Tanning Salon, The Bread Company, The Donut House, The Jewelers Bench, and Three Rivers College for their time, hard work and dedication they put into making this event a success. Their efforts paid off and assisted in raising the bar on an already successful event!

Our committee would also like to thank Mississippi River Radio and Fox Radio Network for their efforts as media sponsors, providing education to the community resulting in support for life-saving research and nationwide initiatives. None of this would be possible without the enthusiasm, commitment and talent of generous supporters like our sponsors!
