Thanks to Hillview career day speakers

To the Editor:

We have been conducting our annual Community Helper unit at Hillview Elementary School. Throughout two weeks in September, we ask a variety of our community helpers to come and share with us about their job or occupation.

Our students love this unit and cannot wait to see who the helper will be each day. On behalf of our students and teachers, I would like to especially thank the following Community Helpers: Deputy Gary Davidson, police day; Sharon Meadows, Neelyville, Mo., post office day; Dr. Rick McGath, doctor day; Neelyville Ambulance Staff, ambulance day; Larry Armes, plumber day; Chief Bob Fredwell and Staff, Butler County Fire Dept., fireman day; Jim and Cindy Hover, farmer day; Jill McGruder, nurse day; and Kim Hicks, Southern Bank, banker day.

We always conclude this unit with a Career Day in which the students come to school dressed in attire that resembles what they would like to be when they "grow up." Many of our students dressed up like many of you who came and visited with us.

Again, we say a huge thank you.
