Retaining a "Care Giving Culture" a vital role in our Progress!

Thirty years ago most companies, especially healthcare companies, didn't talk about culture. In fact, most folks thought culture had to do with Beethoven and other fine arts. Well, thirty years ago at Gamma, culture was a key an issue as it is today. Jerry Murphy, Gamma Healthcare's co-founder and CEO has always been involved with the needs and concerns of people. We knew we had a great business plan, great Employees, and a great opportunity, but so did many other laboratories of the '80s and '90s. The biggest difference between Gamma and the rest was the attention to culture. Your business plan is what you are; but, culture is who you are. Unlike Gamma, some of those other laboratories abandoned their culture as they struggled to adapt to the turbulent times of regulations, mergers and acquisitions. During those times thousands of small and medium size laboratories sold or merged with larger nationwide companies. They often lost sight of the fact that a strong culture is a responsibility that we all must maintain in order for us to reach our true destiny or purpose. At Gamma we make sure that culture has support from leadership and the frontline employee.
