Hwy. W project

long overdue

I was readin' in the paper in the Speak Out, concerning the W Hwy. Project. I'm sorry that they were disappointed in, but I have lived on this highway since it was, before it was black-top, when it was still a gravel road and this was a project long overdue. And, I very much appreciate it. I don't know we did need the white lines and caution stripes they put it--they were needed too. I'm just not understanding why they skipped some of it, but they know. I'm hoping before they stop they'll finish the railroad tracks area at Hilyard and I want 'em to know that I and most of the people who live on W Hwy., which I lived out here off and on all of my life and that's been a long time, really appreciate it. And, I'm hoping that they will, like I said, do the railroad track and finish up the stripes. I just wanted to express my opinion.

School district

bus foolishness

This is how crazy the Poplar Bluff School District is. They have to drive all the way through our subdivision to get to the one-mile point from our school (passing all the kids that they normally would pick up) before they get to the one-mile point--they can't ride the bus this year. Now they still drive the same route like they have always done, make that turnaround in the middle of our subdivision, but none of the other kids are allowed to ride except those at the very back end of the subdivision. The only exception --kindergarteners are allowed to ride the bus. Now if you have a kindergartener and another child, the other child isn't allowed to ride the bus. Is that foolish or is that foolish? Vote the school board out first chance!
