The Poplar Bluff R-I School District is working on finishing up the new Early Childhood Center, which is located next to the Kindergarten Center.
-
The new Early Childhood center classrooms are designed to match the needs of the students, with lower sinks and toilets.
-
The new Early Childhood center library will serve as a center point of the school. It will include a circular desk designed to mimic a tree with a light styled after tree branches.
-
The Early Childhood center library also includes reading nooks with lamps that are peaked at the top to look like houses.
-
Both of the future Early Childhood center main classroom hallways are visible from outside of the library, which is next to the front office.
-
The building is themed like a neighborhood with cityscape decorations on the hallway walls that will serve as corkboards to display student work.
-
The facility will include a playground area specifically for the Early Childhood students. The current plan includes relocating some of the equipment at the current campus.
