Cinderella brings magic to stage

Roger and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” is entering its second run on the Tinnin Fine Art Center’s stage, with performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Prince Topher (Corey Butler) and Ella (Lauryn Cosgrove) meet for the first time by chance and the second time by magic. Both time, sparks fly.

Madame, Charlotte and Gabrielle (Pepi Parshall, Tierra Sade Higgins and Amaya Keele) sashay to the royal ball with plans to snare a prince, leaving Ella behind.

Crazy Marie (Kasi Aldridge) isn't so crazy after all. She's Ella's fairy godmother, here to repay her kindness with a dramatic transformation. Lauryn Cosgrove, who plays Ella, twirls from rags to a ballgown with some costume department magic.

Christopher, a.k.a. Prince Topher, is an expert slayer of dragons, griffins, gargoyles and giants, but he has his doubts about whether he's cut out to be a king. Corey Butler plays Prince Topher and Steve Lewis, pictured in the background wearing a red cape, is the scheming Lord Chancellor Sebastian.

Cash-strapped revolutionary Jean-Michel, played by Alex Jameson, easily woos Gabrielle, played by Amaya Keele. However, he has his work cut out for him in winning over Madame (Pepi Parshall), who wants her daughter in a royal match.

After her father's death, Ella (Lauryn Cosgrove) is forced to wait hand and foot on her demanding stepmother Madame (Pepi Parshall).

The Prince is having a ball! Townspeople are distracted from Jean-Michel's revolutionary speeches with news of a royal party.

Ella dreams of a better life. For now though, her only escape from reality is reading. Ella is played by Lauryn Cosgrove.
