Wappapello Lake celebrates Waterfest

The annual Ranger Willie’s Waterfest held Saturday kicked off two weekends of Independence Day fun for the region.
Waterfest was held at Wappapello Lake and included a fashion show for personal flotation devices, sandcastle competitions, cardboard boat races and much more.
The fun continues Fri- day with the Little Miss and Mr. Firecracker Pageant will be held at 5:30 p.m. in Poplar Bluff at the Holiday Inn ballroom.
A movie in the park will also be held Friday at the Spillway Recreation Area at dusk, followed by fireworks at Wappapello Lake on Saturday.
Downtown Poplar Bluff will host a parade at 9 a.m. Saturday, and fireworks on Sunday.
