Truth has fallen in the street
Truth and reality.
Today, we hear the term “your truth” or “my truth” when, in fact, the truth is neither yours or mine. The truth belongs to the truth itself.
Telling someone the truth is not one person trying to impose their will or beliefs on another person. It is merely telling the truth.
John 17:17 says, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
Now, I am not trying to impose my will of beliefs on anyone. I am merely telling the truth, which used be better than telling a lie.
The Bible is the truth. The Bible tells the truth. Those of us who are willing to tell the truth are often times called an enemy of progress by those who do not believe the truth.
Not believing the truth does not change the truth. No one who does not believe the truth is my enemy.
Modern day Christians are in a rather unique position. Christians have only one enemy, and that is satan.
1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
Some groups that we see on social media and news outlets have declared that Christians are against them and their agenda.
I recently heard a man being interviewed on a college campus say “something should be done about those Christians.”
Although the Bible may be against their agenda, we will continue to preach unto them Jesus. That He loves them and died for their sins.
As the title of my column states “truth has fallen in the streets.”
This is a reference to the Old Testament scripture Isaiah 59:14, which tells us that all of the social structure relies on the truth.
Where truth is discarded everything else will fail. When a person can be born a male, but rejects the truth and “identifies” as a female are applauded, truth has fallen. When we can murder an unborn baby and call it choice, truth has fallen.
The entire structure of society will begin to deteriorate. And, we are seeing that deterioration taking place in our society today by the legalization of drugs, mass shootings and blatant disregard for authority.
Lots of people that I have talked to under the age of 30 do not believe in an absolute truth. They tell me reality and truth are both relevant to any individuals personal belief or preference.
Well, like it or not, believe it or don’t, there is an absolute truth. The truth is there is only one God. There is only one Bible. And there is only one savior and his name is Jesus.
When it comes to the things of God our opinions do not matter.
Some may say “I reject that as truth.” That is a person’s God given right, but the truth does not need our acceptance to be the truth.
My friends, let us always hold to the truth. I would love to meet you and introduce you to Jesus.
