Getting a jump start on fall

I can’t say I specifically have a favorite season, but I do try to pay homage to each one with special decor around my house every year.
Granted, spring and Easter kind of got short changed this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and I hate to admit it, but I didn’t do much better with summer either.
But, that is a changin’ with autumn’s arrival.
Although autumn officially begins on Tuesday, I usually begin breaking out the pumpkins and scarecrows around the unofficial end of summer — Labor Day.
This year was not exception.
I spent the Sunday afternoon before Labor Day rummaging around in my shed for my tote of goodies.
Pumpkins of every shape and size now adorn many surfaces in my home, as do a few scarecrows, and a fall-themed wreath hangs proudly on the front door.
With the impending arrival of fall, it also brings cooler temperatures and the changing of the leaves — visible reminders that life moves on even during a pandemic.
So, let’s embrace the changing of the seasons as we look forward to what autumn has in store for each and every one of us this year. Wishing everyone … a happy autumn.
